Xieng Khoang is famous with hundred of giants jars, are carved out of solid hunks of rock from the mountains surrounding the valley. The stone jars of all sizes strew all over the plateau make an awesome sight. Thus scientist have dubbed it "Plain of Jars". The biggest jar is 3.25m high. The ancient jars, which according to the Lao history were made during Khun Chuang’s time to store wine for the celebration of his conquest of Pakhanh City (Xieng Khouan).

Day 1: Xieng Khoang arrival (L,D)
Welcome at the airport, transfer to hotel for check-in.
Excursion to Muang Khoun (depending on the arrival of the flight). On the way, visit the Plain of Jars (Main site). Visit Wat Phiavat, Wat Tad Fun and Wat Chom Phet. Lunch at local restaurant.
Return to town. Visit the Phonsavanh market. Free time. Dinner at local restaurant. Overnight in Xiengkhouang.
Day 2: Xieng Khoang Tour (B,L,D)
Breakfast at hotel, excursion by land to Muang Kham District.
On the way stop to visit ethnic villages : Phouane, Hmong, Thai Dam villages.
Upon arrival in Muang Kham, lunch at local restaurant. Visit Tam Piew Caves.
Return late to hotel. Dinner at local restaurant. Overnight in Xiengkhouang.
Day 3: Xieng Khoang departure (B)
Breakfast at hotel. Free time till transfer to the airport for leaving Xieng Khouang.
